Chapter 7 — Content and other pages
In this chapter: the home page and content pages, the blog, and the contact and newsletter forms.
7-1. Home page and content pages
- The manager lays out the home page with the page builder; it is a combination of ready-made blocks.
- Content pages (about us, help, terms of use, privacy, campaign landing pages) are also built with the same page builder and are accessible via clean URLs.
- Building and editing these pages is explained in the dashboard guide, Chapter 7.
Block library (things the customer might see)
The page builder has around 50 types of displayable block. The most important ones that matter to a visitor:
- Banner and intro: hero (several styles), dynamic banner, call-to-action (CTA) section.
- Store blocks: the product widget and product carousel, the category widget/collection, the blog widget/carousel — that is, a specific product or category or article can be placed in the middle of any page. (For categories there is only a widget, not a carousel or hero.)
- Dynamic collections: product collection, category collection, blog collection, reviews collection (with newest/by-category/manual modes).
- Blog: blog carousel and article widget.
- Marketing/interface blocks: FAQ accordion, tabs, disclosures, pricing table, logo clouds, stats, feature and card grids, highlight, modal and drawer.
- Custom form builder: in addition to the contact and newsletter forms, the manager can build a custom form — including a multi-step form, a field group and a file upload field. So you may come across a multi-step form with a file upload on some page.
- Basic components: heading/text/paragraph and layout blocks (container, grid, columns), plus show/hide by device (for example, a block only on mobile). (Image is part of the other blocks; a standalone image/gallery, map or team intro block is not rendered on the site.)
💡 The exact list and the settings of each block are on the dashboard side; this is only here so that support knows what things the customer might see.
7-2. Blog
- Topics page: a list of articles per topic + a "More topics" link.
- Article page: the full text with the author, a table of contents, a breadcrumb and related articles at the end.
7-3. Contact form
- On any page where the manager has placed a contact block, the visitor can send a message; the message reaches the store.
7-4. Newsletter
- A newsletter subscription form (usually in the footer or on the home page): by submitting an email, the visitor is added to the store's newsletter subscriber list (dashboard guide, Chapter 8).
- Every email sent has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is applied automatically.
