Chapter 2 — Merchant Mobile App
The mobile app is a version of business management for phone and tablet. It is suited to tasks such as browsing sales, managing products, stocktaking with the camera/barcode, and purchasing and receiving goods on the move. It shows the same data as the dashboard.
⚠️ The app language is English. The user interface of this app is English only (no German/Persian); only the data (product name and price) is shown in the shop's language. The labels in parentheses in this chapter are the actual English text on screen.
2-1. Signing in
- Enter the shop domain and press verify domain (Verify domain). The verified shop card shows the name, address and plan badge (if there is no plan: "No plan published"); there is also a re-verify (Re-verify) button. (An invalid domain does not block sign-in, so you don't connect to the wrong shop.)
- Enter your email and password (which are disabled until the domain is verified) and press sign in.
- If two-factor authentication is enabled, enter the one-time code or one of the recovery codes; there is also a "Start over" button to begin again.
- Start-up states: on opening you may see "Restoring mobile session" and then "Loading tenant workspace"; if the preparation fails, "Workspace bootstrap failed" appears with a try again / sign out button.
💡 Permissions: most screens require a permission; without the required permission, a "Permission required" card is shown instead of the screen (for example, receiving goods requires the permission to create products or adjust stock).
2-2. Home screen and navigation
- Home screen: shortcut cards grouped by role — business owner, warehouse, purchasing, receiving, delivery, sales — leading to frequently used tasks. Plus an alerts section.
- Overview stats row: ⚠️ these numbers are counts of reference data (the number of tax classes, categories, sources, locations), not sales figures.
- Side drawer menu: multi-level navigation; all the settings and tax management sections are gathered under a single "System" group.
- Profile in the bottom bar.
2-3. Main sections
Sales
- Overview of sales.
- Day-to-day tasks: orders, carts, invoices, refunds, transactions (each with a list + details).
- Delivery: shipments, return requests, signatures, risk assessment.
- Programmes: gift cards, subscriptions.
Catalogue and products
- Product list and details/editing, product creation, bulk import (Import).
- Intake with barcode (Intake) — a full workflow, not just a scan: a known barcode → add or adjust stock at a location with a note; an unknown barcode → full product creation (attribute set, name, code, category, unit and unit conversion, tax class, multi-role net/gross price, gallery, initial stock). A repeat (Repeat) mode for continuous scanning and chaining into scan/stocktake/purchase receiving.
- Categories, brands, collections: each has full create/details/edit (not just a list).
Barcode
- Barcode / scan centre: scan or type → find the product → open the product/edit/barcode details, or "create from barcode" when no product is found.
- Three scanner modes (remembered): phone camera, hardware input (scanners that type), hardware camera (dedicated devices).
- Barcode list + selection mode: bulk selection, bulk reassignment to another product, CSV export of the selected items or the whole list, and label printing.
- Barcode details: adjust quantity / reassign / delete, with a label-printing card.
- A separate "link barcode to product" screen (from within the product itself) for scan-and-link.
Inventory
- Inventory overview; inventory details for each item.
- Stocktaking is a workflow: list + create + a stocktake details page (scan → count → save each item → complete).
- Stock history and adjustment; places and sources with full create/details/edit.
Purchasing
- Overview; orders/receipts/requests; suppliers and sourcing; low stock; invoices, refunds, returns, reports and notifications.
- Purchase receiving (Receiving): a scan-and-match against the order line screen that creates a receipt.
- Purchase order actions: edit, receive, create an invoice from the order, create a refund, create a return; convert a request into an order.
Users and system
- Customers and roles with full create/details/edit.
- Settings (12 sections + a home page): general, catalogue, customer, tax, sales, theme, payment, shipping, printers, certificates, integration, features. ⚠️ Important notes:
- The features settings do not work yet (the page is blocked/under construction).
- Certificates and integration are read-only.
- Tax — in two places: a settings page, and a separate System ← Tax section with a full list and CRUD for tax classes, rules and rates.
- Printers — in two places: Settings ← Printers, and a printer device manager (System ← Printers) for defining the type (network/Bluetooth/USB/iMin), the model (Epson/Star), the address/protocol/port, the paper width 58/80 mm and enable/disable.
- Account/profile: edit profile, security, appearance, notifications, connections (these account "connections" are separate from the system integration).
2-4. Printing labels from the phone
⚠️ This app does not print receipts — only product labels.
- Template and quantity: choose the label template (compact / standard / wide) and the number of copies, 1 to 50.
- Label output routes: download PDF, share, send to the phone's system print dialogue, or print directly to a network printer.
- Network printer: Epson (ePOS) or Star (WebPRNT) on the local network — the most reliable route.
- Bluetooth (BLE): coded but not yet verified with hardware, and it requires the special build of the app (it does not work on Expo Go).
- USB and iMin: not currently supported.
💡 For quick shelf labelling, the most reliable current route is the network printer or the PDF/share output.
