Chapter 7 — Site content (Inhalt)

In this chapter: creating and managing the online shop's content — pages with the visual page builder, menus, blocks, widgets and the blog. (The site's colours, logo and header are in Settings → Theme; Chapter 12.)

7-1. Pages (Seite) and the page builder

Every site page (home page, about us, landing and legal pages) is built here:

  1. Create a new page: title and address (URL).
  2. Click the visual page builder — the drag-and-drop environment opens.
  3. From the block library (banner/hero, featured products, categories, customer reviews, contact form, newsletter, text and columns, etc.) add a block and fill in its settings.
  4. Save/publish — the page is immediately visible on the site.

7-2. Page templates (Seitenvorlagen)

  • Ready-made, reusable layouts; they are built with the same page builder.
  • Start a new page from a template so the site's look stays consistent.

7-3. Blocks (Block) and widgets (Widget)

  • Block: a reusable piece of content (for example a seasonal sale banner) — create it once, use it on several pages; with a single edit, it changes everywhere.
  • Widget: ready-made site components that are displayed in designated spots.

7-4. Menus (Menü)

  • Build the site's navigation menus (main menu, footer) here: add items, link to a page/category/custom address, nest items for a multi-level menu/mega menu.

7-5. Blog (Blog)

  • Blog categories: the topics of your posts.
  • Posts (Beitrag): create/edit an article with text, image and category; a published post is displayed in the site's blog section with the author, table of contents and related articles.
💡 An active blog is effective for SEO and for bringing customers back to the site — even one short article a week is enough.

7-6. Documentation (Documentation)

A section for building a dedicated documentation/help site for the shop (like a product help centre). It is only visible to the admin role and has three layers:

  • Space: each space is an independent documentation collection (for example "User Guide", "API"). Create/edit/list.
  • Version: each space can have several versions (for example v1, v2) so the documentation is versioned. Create/edit/list under each space.
  • Page: the documentation pages inside a space/version.
