Chapter 5 — Warehouse (Lager)

In this chapter: defining warehouses and locations, tracking stock movements, and stocktaking.

5-1. Sources (Quelle)

  • A source means a warehouse or a place where stock is kept (central warehouse, shop back room, etc.).
  • Create/edit a source with a name and details.
  • Each product's stock is kept separately per source.

5-2. Locations (Standort)

  • Define and edit stock locations; linking them to the sales locations determines which stock each location's sales are deducted from.

5-3. History (Verlauf)

  • A complete record of all stock changes: sales, purchase receipts, manual adjustments, stocktaking.
  • When a stock figure looks "odd", this is the first place to look — it shows what changed the stock, when, and by whom.

5-4. Stocktaking (Inventuren)

Physically counting and correcting stock:

  1. Create a new stocktake and specify its scope (which warehouse/items).
  2. Actually count the items and enter the counted quantity for each line.
  3. The system shows the difference between the count and the recorded stock.
  4. Complete/close the stocktake — stock levels are corrected to the counted figure and all changes are recorded in the history.
💡 Do the stocktake during closing hours so that simultaneous sales don't disrupt the count. For counting with a phone and barcode scanner, the merchant mobile app does this faster.
